- Welcome to Brigit's Flame!
The Flame is a competitive writing community with a focus on encouraging writer growth. We feature a month-long main contest with a fresh prompt every week, but there are many other ways to participate, including: mini contests, chatter posts, editing, the ROAR team, and many other things! Anyone who would like to join the community is more than welcome. We look forward to having you!

Rules for member conduct are few but important:- Please refrain from personal attacks and outright rudeness. We believe there is always an inoffensive way to phrase your opinion. For example, "I disagree with your statement, because…" is more polite than "You would have to be an idiot to believe what you are spewing."
- Adult themes, whether in a contest entry or during a discussion, are welcome, but please be sure to label such material with a NSFW (Not Safe For Work) notation. Similarly, be aware of potentially triggering material. When in doubt about whether to warn for adult or triggering material, prudence is preferred.
- Post about illegal activity at your own risk. This community is not a safe space for confessing to breaking any laws.
- We promote a self-moderating community structure. We operate under the assumption that all our members are mature persons with the ability to deal with conflict constructively. Members occasionally step in to remind others to keep conversations respectful and safe, and we welcome such comments. However, if you would like a moderator to help you resolve an issue, feel free to ask -- we are more than happy to help.
